In a typical solar system the sunlight is converted to electric energy in the solar panel then flows through a charger contrl and is stored in a battery until it is discharged into an invertor where the current is changed from DC to AC before it is sent into the grid. This type of solar system is called stand alone, it work best when the area does not allready have electricity. In places that have electricity a new type of system is available that does not require a charge control or battery. The abecence of these components dirastically reduce the coast of the system. Batteries are very expensive, require a lot of maintainence and have to be changed every 3 to 5 years.
The electricity form the solar panels in this new system flows into an invertor that has the ability to put the electricity directly into the grid. Instead of running devices of electric grid power, it is possible to either run solely of solar power or decrease the consumption of electrical grid power. After ten years of useing this system, the system can pay for itself. It is also possible to sell power back to the government i fthe building is not useing all the solar power produced.
The system below is part of a solar camp and can produce 5070W per hour. The system was built on top of a parking garage.
